If Raymond mill breaks down during operation, we can deal with it as following:

1. No powder out or low productivity.

Causes: (1) The poor adjustment and bad seal of the powder locker results in powder suck-back. (2) The shovel blade is badly worn, unable to shovel materials.

Solutions: (1) Check and adjust the seal of the powder locker. Once air leakage is founded, rectify it immediately.

(2) Replace the worn shovel blades with new ones.

2. The finished powder is too thick or too fine.

Causes: (1) The blades on the analytical engine are seriously worn, unable to classify.

(2) The air volume of the fan is not proper.

Solutions: (1) Change the blade length and turn down air volume properly to solve particle oversize.

(2) Increase the inlet airflow volume to solve particle over-fine.

3. The main engine current rises, while that of the fan declines.

Causes: (1) Feeding too much and the air flue is blocked by powder, leading to air venting clog.

(2) The circulating air heating up makes the main engine current rise and the fan current decline.

Solutions: (1) Reduce feed rate and clean the accumulated powder in the air flue.

(2) Turn up the ductwork valve and control the feeding material temperature under 6 ℃.

4. The main engine makes loud noise and vibrates drastically.

Causes: (1) The feed rate is too small.

(2) Shovel blades are badly worn, unable to shovel materials.

(3) The anchor bolts loose.

(4) The material is too hard resulting in high impact, or no material layer.

(5) The grinding roller and grinding ring are deformed seriously.

Solutions: (1) Adjust the feed rate and replace with new shovel blades.

(2) Change the feeding particle size.

(3) Replace the grinding roller and grinding ring.

(4) Tighten the anchor bolts.

5. The fan vibrates.

Causes: (1) Powder accumulates on the blades or uneven wear.

(2) The anchor bolts loose.

Solutions: (1) Clear the accumulated powder on the blades or change new shovel blades.

(2) Tighten the anchor bolts.

6. The transmission device and analytical engine’s oil tank emit heat.

Causes: (1) Because of big oil viscosity, the screw pump is unable to fetch oil, which makes the upper bearing short of oil.

Solutions: (1) Check if the oil type and oil viscosity are consistent with requirements.

(2) Check the running direction of the analytical engine.

7. The grinding roller device is permeated with powder and the bearing is damaged.

Reasons: (1) Out of oil or seal ring damage.

(2) Lack of maintenance and cleaning for a long term.

Solutions: (1) Add oil according to the stipulated time.

(2) Clean regularly and replace the oil seal.

Note: Correct and reasonable troubleshooting can improve the service life and work efficiency of Raymond mill. In addition, trouble shooting should refer to the Raymond mill operation instruction.
